User email verification on Hood

Verify your workplace through your work or college email to add a layer of credibility to your profile. Follow the steps outlined below to complete the verification, which is currently available to waitlisted users only:

  • Ensure your work email corresponds with your present company’s or college’s email domain (for example, yourname@YourCompanyName.com).
  • The verification status will appear in the “Account Setting” section once you successfully verify your email. While others can view the status, your email address remains confidential.
  • Note that you’ll need to re-verify your email every 365 days for security reasons.

How to Verify Your Work Email:

  1. Navigate to “Setting” > “Account” > “Get Verified”.
  2. Input your current work or college email and click “Next”.
  3. Retrieve the verification code from your email. If you haven’t received a code, click “Resend Code”.
  4. Enter the received code and click “Verify” (note that the code expires 30 minutes post-receipt). This will add you to the waitlist.
  5. Upon verification, you’ll receive an in-app notification confirming the same.

How to Re-verify Your Work Email:

Should you need to reverify after 365 days or at any other point, follow these steps:

  1. Go to “Setting” > “Account” > “Get Verified”.
  2. Click “Reverify”.
  3. Confirm your choice to “Reverify”.
  4. The verification process will then restart, during which your previous verification status will be suspended temporarily until the new verification is complete.
